ENT examinations presented: The prick test

The prick test is a diagnostic method for detecting immediate allergic reactions.

The skin prick test is used to detect a so-called type I allergy, such as an allergy to pollen or animal dander. An allergen is dropped onto the skin and the skin is then pricked with a lancet so that the substance can penetrate the epidermis. The test reaction can be read and evaluated after approx. 20 minutes. In my ENT practice in 1040 Vienna In addition to the skin prick test, I also offer further allergy testing.
